Chief Curator at the Art Gallery of Western Australia Garry Dufour is the man responsible for the exhibition Jeff Wall Photographs running at the above venue from May 26 until September 10.

Jeff Wall, a Vancouver based artist was in Perth for an artist talk recently and fascinated a large audience with observations on his work. Garry Dufour chaired the encounter.

“I don’t have any method, I don’t have any guidelines. .. People will always  be inherently fascinated by the work of a painter. There is nothing more uninteresting than a photographer taking photos….the world is rushing like lemmings from film… film is unique and inimitable and there is no reason why the analogue and digital worlds cannot coexist….

These were some of the comments fired at the audience from one of the world’s preeminent photographic artists.
